Angel One and Livwell Partner for Digital Insurance Venture
Angel One, an online stockbroker, is teaming up with Livwell to start a new life insurance company that will operate digitally.
Angel One will own a smaller part of the company, with Livwell owning the majority.
They're planning to invest a lot of money to get it going.
The goal is to sell insurance more easily to people in India, using Angel One's wide reach and Livwell's knowledge of insurance.
This is happening because there's not enough insurance sold in India compared to other places, and Angel One wants to offer more services.
Angel One is partnering with Livwell to launch a digital-first life insurance company.
The joint venture (JV) will see Angel One hold a 26% stake, with LivWell owning the remaining 74%.
The companies plan to invest INR 400 Cr in the new entity.
Wilf Blackburn is proposed to chair the JV, and Nikhil Verma will be CEO.
The JV aims to increase insurance penetration in India by leveraging Angel One's distribution network and Livwell's expertise.
