Meghna Gulzar Says Kareena Reveals Unseen Facet in Daayra
Daayra is a new film directed by Meghna Gulzar.
It stars Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran as police officers.
Their characters, Ajooni and Raman, do not always agree about justice.
Meghna says Kareena’s performance shows a side of her audiences have not seen before.
She describes Ajooni as serious, difficult to read, and strongly committed to what she believes is right.
Raman is portrayed as intense and almost never smiling.
The film is inspired by true events from different parts of India.
Its trailer arrives on August 31, and the movie is scheduled to reach cinemas on September 18.
Meghna Gulzar says Kareena Kapoor shows an “entirely unseen facet” in Daayra.
Kareena and Prithviraj Sukumaran play police officers with contrasting views of justice.
Kareena’s Ajooni is described as “fiercely righteous,” while Prithviraj’s Raman is “righteously fierce.”
The film draws inspiration from several true events across India and explores moral ambiguity.
Daayra’s trailer is scheduled for August 31, with a theatrical release set for September 18.
