Skanray Technologies Plans Aviation Entry
Skanray Technologies, a company that makes medical devices, is planning to start an airline called Skanjet Aviation.
They want to connect smaller towns in India, like Mysuru and Amaravati, to bigger cities.
They have been studying the aviation sector for five years and think now is a good time to start.
They will begin with three small planes and hope to double that number in a year.
The company needs about ₹150–200 crore to start, which they will get from investors.
This new venture comes at a time when their medical device business is not doing well.
They hope the airline will be successful and break even in two years.
Skanray Technologies, a medical devices manufacturer, is entering the aviation sector with a new airline, Skanjet Aviation.
The company plans to start operations in April 2025, beginning with three ATR 72 aircraft.
Skanjet Aviation will connect Mysuru with several domestic locations, including Hyderabad, Goa, and Mumbai.
The initial investment for the venture is estimated to be ₹150–200 crore, funded through equity and debt.
This move comes as Skanray's core medical devices business faces financial challenges, with declining revenue and operating margins.
