Congress Demands Law for Private Education Reservations
Imagine some schools are only for certain people, and not for everyone.
Congress wants a new rule, a law, to make sure that schools that aren't run by the government must also let in students from groups like SC, ST, and OBC.
These are groups of people who are sometimes left out.
They say the government hasn't made this rule yet, even though it's been a long time, and this is unfair.
A law was made long ago to help students from these groups go to private schools, but they are not required to do so.
Congress is worried that because of this, students from SC, ST, and OBC are not getting a fair chance to study in these schools.
Congress party demands law to enforce reservations in private educational institutions.
The demand is based on Article 15(5) of the Indian Constitution.
Congress accuses the BJP government of denying education to SC/ST/OBC students.
The UPA government introduced Article 15(5) to enable reservations.
Significant percentages of SC, ST, and OBC students are unable to study in private institutions.
