Bihar Electoral Roll Revision Nears Completion, EC Reports
The Election Commission in Bihar is updating its list of voters.
Almost all voters have been checked so far.
The goal is to make sure everyone who should be on the list is, and no one who shouldn't be is included.
They've found that some people have passed away or moved.
They also discovered some people registered multiple times or could not be located.
A new draft of the voter list will be available in August, and people can raise any concerns or claims until September.
Voters temporarily living outside Bihar can submit forms online or through local agents.
Bihar's electoral roll revision is nearing completion, with 98.01% of electors covered as of July 23.
The Election Commission (EC) aims to include all eligible electors and exclude ineligible ones.
Reports indicate 20 lakh deceased electors and 28 lakh permanently migrated electors.
Seven lakh electors were found enrolled at more than one place, and 1 lakh were untraceable.
The Draft Electoral Roll will be published on August 1, with objections and claims accepted until September 1.
