Sariska Tiger Reserve Boundary Plan Cleared For Review
The Rajasthan government wants to redraw the boundaries of Sariska Tiger Reserve, a park for tigers.
This is because of a Supreme Court order on some old mines.
The government thinks this is a good idea and will add to a buffer zone.
Some people working there are worried, they are concerned this could cause harm to the reserve.
It has now been approved by a board, and will be considered by another one soon.
Rajasthan Wildlife Board approved a proposal to rationalize Sariska Tiger Reserve's Critical Tiger Habitat (CTH).
The proposal involves excluding areas with human impact and adding them to the buffer zone.
This decision may benefit marble and dolomite mines shut down by a Supreme Court order.
The revised proposal is slated for the National Board for Wildlife's review on June 26.
