Gurmeet Ram Rahim Granted 15th Parole
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the leader of a religious group, was given permission to leave jail for 40 days.
This is his 15th time getting parole since he was convicted in 2017 for doing bad things to two of his followers.
He will stay at his group's headquarters in Sirsa.
He has been out of jail many times before, staying mostly at his group's place in Baghpat or Sirsa.
He also has special security protection and can talk to his followers online during his parole.
Some people, like Sikh groups, are not happy about him getting so much time out of jail.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the Dera Chief, has been granted a 40-day parole, his 15th since 2017.
He is currently lodged in Sunaria Jail in Rohtak and will stay at the Dera’s headquarters in Sirsa during his parole.
The Haryana government approved his parole request, and he is expected to be released after completing the formalities.
Singh was convicted in 2017 for raping two of his disciples and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
He has been granted multiple paroles and furloughs since his conviction, with his last 40-day parole being in August 2025.
