Trump Threatens Veto on ACA Subsidy Extension

Trump Threatens Veto on ACA Subsidy Extension

President Trump said he might not sign a new law that helps people pay for health insurance.

This law, which passed in the House but was rejected in the Senate, would keep subsidies (extra money to help pay for insurance) going after they end in 2025.

Without this law, many people might have to pay much more for health insurance.

Some Republicans in the House voted with Democrats to pass the law, but the Senate, which is also controlled by Republicans, has already said no to a similar bill.

People have until January 15, 2026, to sign up for health insurance this year, but the Trump administration could change that date.
