UDP urges Amit Shah to implement ILP in Meghalaya

UDP urges Amit Shah to implement ILP in Meghalaya

This story is about leaders in a place called Meghalaya, a state in India.

A group called the United Democratic Party, or UDP, is asking the national government to help protect the people who have lived there for a very long time.

They want a special rule called the Inner Line Permit, which would mean people from outside need permission before entering the state.

The leaders say Meghalaya already has some protections, but they want more laws.

The Home Minister, Amit Shah, said the idea needs careful study because other states could be affected too.

The delegation also asked for their languages, Khasi and Garo, to be officially recognized.

They talked about moving a colony, supporting a university, and building a new highway.

The talks show how the state and the national government are working together on these issues.
