Andhra Pradesh Thermal Output Sets Record as Coal Supplies Secured

Andhra Pradesh Thermal Output Sets Record as Coal Supplies Secured

Andhra Pradesh’s state-run thermal power stations made more electricity from April to September 2026 than during the same months the year before.

They produced 19,268 million units, which was a record and 13.1% more than the previous year.

The stations were available to generate electricity more often, and their plant load factor also improved.

But some stations received much less coal from Singareni than expected, and deliveries to Dr. NTTPS stopped in August.

The government arranged other coal sources and imported coal, including shipments that reached Krishnapatnam Port.

Officials have also planned how to obtain electricity from October through March.

Their plan includes a reserve to help if demand suddenly rises or a power station has an unexpected problem.

Officials said the measures are intended to support reliable electricity for homes, farms, and businesses.
