Chavan Defiant on Operation Sindoor Remarks
Prithviraj Chavan, a former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said that India was defeated on the first day of Operation Sindoor.
He claimed that Indian aircraft were shot down and the Air Force was grounded.
He also questioned the need for a large army, suggesting that future wars will be fought in the air.
However, India has rejected these claims, stating that the remarks were taken out of context.
Operation Sindoor was a response to a terror attack in Pahalgam, where India claimed to have killed over 100 terrorists.
The BJP accused Chavan of undermining the armed forces and lending credence to hostile propaganda.
Chavan argued that the conflict involved no ground movement and was limited to air and missile strikes, implying a rethink of India’s military structure.
