India and Ghana Seek to Deepen Partnership Across New Sectors

India and Ghana want to work more closely together.

Their foreign ministers discussed cooperation in areas such as health, farming, defence, mining, railways and digital technology.

They signed agreements related to agricultural research and biodiversity.

Ghana also plans to apply to join BRICS, a group of countries, while continuing to work with traditional partners such as the IMF and World Bank.

Ghana said its trade with India had grown and that it hopes to increase it further.

Jaishankar said the two countries could share ideas on challenges they both face.

He also called for them to cooperate on issues important to developing countries.

Ghana is expected to chair the African Union in 2027.
