MCC to Conduct Additional Rounds for MBBS Seats
The Gujarat High Court was told by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) that they will do more rounds of admissions to fill up all the empty seats for MBBS courses.
Before this, a group of medical colleges had complained that the authorities were not doing enough to fill these seats, even though they did extra rounds last year for just four seats.
The court was happy with MCC's promise and closed the case.
The Gujarat High Court disposed of a petition after the MCC agreed to conduct additional rounds of admissions for vacant MBBS seats.
The MCC informed the court that it would possibly conduct a fourth or fifth round of admissions to fill up all the seats.
The petition was filed by the MEDGUJ Association against the MCC, National Medical Commission, and ACPUMC.
The petitioners contended that the authorities were reluctant to hold further rounds of admissions despite several seats remaining vacant.
The decision was made contrary to the previous year when an additional round was conducted for four vacant seats.
