HYDRAA intensifies fire safety crackdown
HYDRAA, along with other city departments, is doing a big check to make sure buildings are safe from fires.
They are inspecting both homes and shops to ensure they follow safety rules.
If any place is not safe, they will close it down and cut off its electricity.
The city is also asking people to help by reporting any fire risks they see.
Recently, a fire in a furniture shop killed five people, which happened because the shop didn't follow safety rules.
The city wants to make sure this doesn't happen again by making sure there are clear paths to escape and systems to put out fires automatically.
Two popular showrooms, Neeru’s in Jubilee Hills and a furniture showroom in Nampally, were sealed for serious fire safety violations, including operating without a Fire NOC and blocking emergency exits.
HYDRAA has intensified fire safety inspections across Hyderabad following recent fatal incidents.
Commercial and residential buildings are being inspected, with violators facing immediate sealing and electricity disconnection.
High-risk commercial complexes are prioritized, and non-compliant establishments are publicly marked.
Citizens are encouraged to report fire hazards via a dedicated hotline, with whistleblower confidentiality assured.
