Italy Proposes New 5,000-Strong Unit to Combat Hybrid Warfare
Italy wants to create a big team (5,000 people) to protect against sneaky attacks that use both military and non-military tactics.
This team will work all the time to stop these attacks and keep Italy safe.
The idea was talked about at a big meeting with the president and other important people.
Italy's defence minister proposes a new 5,000-strong unit to combat hybrid warfare threats.
The unit would operate 24/7 and initially employ 1,200-1,500 people, gradually increasing to 5,000.
The unit aims to prevent, deter, and absorb hybrid attacks, including disinformation and cognitive warfare.
The proposal was discussed at high-level defence talks hosted by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
