Road Expansion Boosts Spiritual Tourism in India
A minister in India, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, talked about how building more roads and better travel paths in the last 11 years has helped more people visit holy places.
He said that the number of big, four-lane roads has grown a lot, from about 18,000 km to nearly 48,200 km.
This has made it easier for people to go on important religious trips like the Char Dham Yatra and the Panchkosi Yatra.
Even places in the Northeast part of India have become easier to visit because of these new roads.
The minister is happy that more people can now travel to these special places.

Four-lane expressways have grown from 18,000 km to nearly 48,200 km, a 2.5 times increase.
