Trump Supports Iranian Protesters Amid Unrest
President Donald Trump said the United States is ready to help protesters in Iran who are asking for freedom.
He made this statement on a social media platform called Truth Social.
The protesters in Iran are facing a strong response from the authorities.
Trump's comments show that the US is paying attention to what's happening in Iran and is willing to support the people there.
Israel is also on high alert for the possibility of US intervention in Iran, as they discussed with the US Secretary of State.
Iran is seeing one of its most intense waves of unrest in nearly three years, with protests spreading rapidly across cities and provinces.
The protests reportedly began on 3rd January, triggered by rising prices, unemployment, and economic hardship.
However, the anger quickly moved beyond economic issues.
Protesters are openly calling for an end to Iran’s clerical system that has ruled the country since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The Iranian government has imposed a near-total internet shutdown to stop coordination and prevent images from reaching the outside world.
The death toll has risen to at least 538 people, with over 10,000 detained.
The Iranian government has called for a nationwide march in support of the government, and the President has offered condolences and a call for unity.
The situation is tense, with the US considering various options, including military intervention, and Iran warning of potential retaliation against US and Israeli targets.
President Donald Trump expressed US support for Iranian protesters and stated that the US is ready to help.
Trump's comments were made on the Truth Social platform and follow his previous warning that Iran is in 'big trouble'.
