Experts: Robust data governance key to patient-centric healthcare

When you go to the doctor, your health information is private and special.

In India, more and more health services are moving to computers and phones.

Right now, about 400 million people use India's digital health services.

By 2030, that number could grow to almost one billion people.

A group called AHPI, which represents hospitals and healthcare providers, held an online meeting about keeping this information safe.

They talked about a new law called the DPDP Act that protects people's digital personal data.

Experts at the meeting said protecting patient information is just as important as taking care of patients.

They said hospitals need good rules, trained staff, and clear plans to stop data leaks.

One leader said data privacy is no longer just a rule to follow, but an important part of honest and caring healthcare.

Another said the new law is a chance for hospitals to build trust with patients.
