Shelved Arvind Swamy-Sridevi Film Anna Set for Revival
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit effect: Arvind Swamy-Sridevi’s shelved film to be revived after decades · indianexpress.com

Anna was a movie planned in the 1990s, but its filming never began.

Arvind Swamy and Sridevi were expected to star in it, and Joshiy was set to direct.

The team could not make the actors’ schedules work, so the project was stopped.

Even though no scenes were filmed, the music team recorded eight songs.

Those songs were released in 1995.

One song, “Yavanakathayil,” later appeared in Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and became popular again.

Producer Tomichan Mulakuppadam has now acquired Anna’s rights and plans to revive it with a new team.

The new cast and director have not yet been announced.

“It is with the desire to bring the story and associated memories of that film to the new generation through new writers that I have taken over the production rights of Anna. A new beginning for a film that stopped midway three decades ago. More details, including the director and cast, will be announced later. “I am happy to share that I have acquired the rights to the film Anna, which started in the 1990s but was shelved for various reasons. Years later, when the song ‘Yavanakathayil’ from the film became a sensation again through Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, there were many enquiries and discussions about Anna.”
