India's 2025 Land Deals and Housing Sales
In 2025, India saw a lot of land deals and changes in housing sales.
There were 126 land deals covering more than 3,772 acres for building houses, shops, factories, and data centers.
The most deals happened in the Mumbai area.
At the same time, housing sales in three big southern cities—Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai—went up by 15% to over 1.33 lakh units.
But in other cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Ahmedabad, housing sales went down.
The total number of new houses built across eight major cities also fell by 6%.
This shows that while some areas are doing well, others are facing challenges.
126 land deals totaling 3,772+ acres closed in 2025 for various projects across India.
Deals include outright purchases and joint development agreements between builders and land owners.
96 deals covering 1,877+ acres are proposed for residential projects, including plotted developments, township projects, and luxury villas.
Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) led the activity with 32 deals spanning over 500+ acres.
Other projects include industrial and logistic parks, mixed-use development, commercial and data centers, warehousing, and retail spaces.
