Germany Finds 21 Explosive Devices Near Electricity Grid

Police in Saxony, Germany, found 21 homemade explosive devices near high-voltage power lines.

They were near the Graustein substation in the Görlitz district.

Nine devices were found over the weekend, bringing the total to 21.

Authorities are investigating after attacks on the electricity grid last week.

Police are looking for a man who sent letters claiming responsibility, but he has not been found.

A separate fire at a transformer substation in Berlin was investigated, but initial findings blamed a technical fault.

In Wesel, police assessed another substation after its fence was cut open.

Germany has also formally blamed Russia for an earlier drone attack near Leipzig/Halle, though the report does not attribute the newly found devices to Russia.
