Karnataka CM Calls for Unity, Rejects Bandh Over Cauvery
Karnataka’s chief minister, DK Shivakumar, said that the state should not call for a protest that would stop all work, called a big meeting with many politicians, and talked about the Cauvery river problem.
He wants everyone to work together to keep water for people and farmers.
He said the big water tank in the state is full, so there is no shortage of water for homes.
He also said the state has talked to the national government about the river issue.
The meeting was to make a plan that protects Karnataka’s water needs.
Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar urged political unity, rejecting a bandh over the Cauvery water dispute.
He chaired an all‑party meeting at his residence, bringing together former chief ministers, union ministers and opposition leaders.
The meeting aimed to formulate a united strategy to safeguard Karnataka’s interests and ensure drinking‑water security.
Shivakumar highlighted that the Kabini reservoir is full, with no shortage of water for domestic use.
