Nifty Bank Dips, Gold Hits Record
The Nifty 50 and Sensex, which are big groups of important Indian company stocks, went down a little after going up for two days.
Some smaller company stocks did better.
Meanwhile, gold and silver prices reached new highs because people are worried about the world and think it might be easier to borrow money in the US.
Experts think gold will keep going up, but it might stay between ₹1,33,000 and ₹1,36,500 for now.
The Indian rupee also got weaker against the US dollar.
On December 16, 2025, the Nifty Bank index started lower and all 12 stocks in the index were in the red, with Axis Bank down the most.
The Nifty Bank futures also dropped, but there are support levels that might prevent it from falling too much.
Experts suggest waiting to see what happens next before making any big moves.
Nifty 50 and Sensex closed lower on December 15, 2025, due to mixed global cues.
Broader markets outperformed benchmarks, with BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gaining 0.16% and 0.41%, respectively.
Gold prices hit a record high of ₹1,35,496 per 10 grams, with a year-to-date rally of 75.5%, while silver reached ₹2,01,615, with a 130% year-to-date rally.
Nifty Bank index started lower on December 16, 2025, with all 12 stocks in the red, led by Axis Bank down 3.6%.
Nifty Bank futures dropped but have support levels at 59,150 and 59,000, with potential resistance at 60,500 and 61,000.
