Oil Prices Near USD 100 as Iran-US Tensions Disrupt Supply

Oil prices rose because investors are worried that fighting between Iran and the United States could interrupt oil shipments.

Brent oil came close to USD 100 per barrel, while another major oil price also increased.

Iran warned the United States about economic warfare and said it fired a new missile at American warships.

Iran also announced a new shipping corridor in the Strait of Hormuz.

That waterway is important because much of the region’s oil and gas passes through it.

Recent attacks involving Saudi Aramco facilities and Iranian oil tankers added to market fears.

One analyst said oil production might not fully return to earlier levels until 2027.

Another warned that Brent could reach USD 120 if attacks on ships become broader and more intense.
