HYDRAA halts illegal dumping at Mella Cheruvu
HYDRAA, which is like a group of people who take care of water and land in Hyderabad, found that a big lake called Mella Cheruvu was being filled with dirt and rocks.
This was bad because it was blocking water from entering the lake.
People who live nearby and a local leader complained about this.
HYDRAA went to check and found that more than half of the lake was filled.
They removed the dirt and rocks and put up a fence to keep people from dumping more.
They also made sure that farmers could still use the land.
In another place called Pedda Amberpet village, HYDRAA removed a wall that was blocking roads.
This wall was built illegally on land that belonged to everyone.
HYDRAA made the roads open again so that people could use them.
HYDRAA stopped illegal soil and rock dumping at Mella Cheruvu, where over half of the 108-acre lake was filled with debris.
Residents and Medak BJP MP M. Raghunandan Rao complained about the lake situation and illegal obstructions.
HYDRAA removed illegal bunds and barriers, fenced 40 acres within the full tank level (FTL) to prevent further dumping.
In Rangareddy district, HYDRAA removed an illegal compound wall in Pedda Amberpet village that was blocking access to plot owners.
HYDRAA restored access to roads after finding nearly 4,000 sq. yds of layout land had been encroached upon.
