Starlink Approved for 7,500 More Satellites
Starlink, a project by SpaceX, has been given permission to launch 7,500 more satellites.
This is a big deal because it will help more people around the world, especially in places like India, get better internet.
The satellites will be used to provide faster and more reliable internet to areas where it's hard to get good internet service.
The company has to launch half of these new satellites by 2028 and the rest by 2031.
Starlink is mainly focusing on helping rural and remote areas in India, where internet access is often poor or non-existent.
This will help with things like online learning, telemedicine, and digital payments.
Starlink approved to launch 7,500 additional second-generation satellites by the FCC.
Total approved satellites now stand at 15,000, half of SpaceX's original proposal.
Satellites can operate across five different frequency bands with removed technical restrictions.
SpaceX must have half of the new satellites operational by December 2028 and all by December 2031.
Starlink aims to improve internet coverage in rural and remote regions, particularly in India.
