Four Held in Chhattisgarh for Seeking and Accepting Bribes
Imagine some government workers who are supposed to help people by releasing payments for land or for work done.
Instead, these four people asked for extra money, like a bribe, to do their jobs.
One group wanted money to give compensation for land taken to build a highway.
Another person wanted money to release compensation for a snakebite case.
The last person wanted money to pay for construction work.
The Anti Corruption Bureau caught them when they were taking the money and arrested them.
They are now facing charges for taking bribes.
Four individuals were arrested by the Chhattisgarh Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for bribery.
The arrested include a patwari, a land acquisition operator, a clerk, and a PWD sub-engineer.
Bribes were allegedly sought for releasing land compensation, snakebite case compensation, and civil work bills.
Arrests were made in Janjgir-Champa, Bastar, and Manendragarh-Chrimiri-Bharatpur districts.
