Mumbai: BJP Objects to BMC's Beach Safety Robots from Turkiye
The Mumbai government wants to buy special rescue robots from Turkiye to help lifeguards at the beach.
But, a political party called BJP is against this idea.
They don't like Turkiye because they believe Turkiye supports Pakistan.
Other parties like Shiv Sena (UBT) and Samajwadi Party also think this is a bad idea.
The robots are meant to help save people who are in trouble in the water.
The plan still needs final approval, so it might not happen.
The main reason for the opposition is because of political disagreements between India and Turkiye.
BMC plans to procure robotic water rescue devices for six Mumbai beaches.
BJP opposes the proposal, citing Turkiye's stance on Pakistan.
Other parties like Shiv Sena (UBT) and Samajwadi Party also oppose.
Devices are intended to assist lifeguards in rescuing distressed swimmers.
The final approval for the proposal is still pending.
