West Bengal Recovers ₹60,000 Each from 12,500 Ineligible Beneficiaries

The government of West Bengal gave money to some poor people so they could build homes.

This program was called Banglar Bari, which means "Bengal's Home."

Later, the government found out that some people got the money even though they were not supposed to.

Now the government is asking those 12,500 people to give back ₹60,000 each.

This is the first time the government is trying to get the money back.

At the same time, the government is giving the next payment of ₹60,000 to 10.2 lakh people who were found eligible.

The program has also been given a new name: Paschimbanga Awas.

The government says it will not allow cheating in programs meant to help the poor.

Some people who were removed from the voter list also got money, and the government will check whether they can keep it.
