Karnataka Health Staff Face Leave Ban During ASHA Strike
ASHA workers in Karnataka, who help with healthcare, are going on strike for three days from August 12th to August 14th.
They are protesting because they were promised 10,000 rupees a month in January, but haven't received it yet.
Because of the strike, the government has told all health staff they can't take any time off, except for medical emergencies.
The government is also keeping track of which ASHA workers are not at work during the strike.
Karnataka Health Department banned leave for staff due to an ASHA workers' strike.
ASHA workers will strike for three days, August 12-14, across the state.
The strike is over the promised Rs 10,000 monthly honorarium from January.
The honorarium was announced by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in January.
The Health Dept. will collect daily attendance reports of ASHA workers.
