Delhi Government Plans 250-Bed Trauma Block at GTB Hospital

Delhi Government Plans 250-Bed Trauma Block at GTB Hospital

The Delhi government plans to build a new medical building at GTB Hospital.

It will be used to treat people with serious injuries and emergencies.

The building will have 250 beds and nine operation theatres.

Doctors will also have special rooms to see patients without admitting them.

It will include an emergency department that works all day and night.

The facility will have machines such as CT scanners, MRI and X-ray equipment.

A blood bank, laboratory and intensive-care beds will also be included.

The project is expected to cost Rs 244.87 crore and be ready by 2028.

Officials say the expansion is needed because GTB Hospital treats many patients and its beds are usually occupied.
