UPI Discontinues P2P 'Collect Request' to Curb Fraud
Imagine you could ask someone to send you money using your phone, but it was causing problems.
That's like the 'collect request' feature in UPI, a way to ask for money.
People used it to split bills or get paid back.
But, bad guys tricked people into sending them money.
So, to keep everyone safe, this 'ask for money' feature is going away.
Starting October 1, 2025, you'll have to send money by scanning a code or choosing the person, entering the amount, and using your secret UPI code.
This change won't affect paying stores like Amazon.
