Mauricio Pochettino Misses Premier League, Open to Future Return
A soccer coach named Mauricio Pochettino, who currently manages the U.S. national team, said he really misses coaching in the English Premier League.
He thinks it's the best and most competitive soccer league anywhere.
He used to coach Chelsea and Tottenham in England.
While he's happy in America, he hopes to coach in the Premier League again someday.
He also mentioned he was surprised his old boss at Tottenham, Daniel Levy, left his job.
Pochettino feels managing a national team is different because he only sees the players for short periods, which makes it hard to help them improve, and he feels a bit empty between games.
Mauricio Pochettino, manager of the United States national team, stated he misses managing in the Premier League.
He believes the Premier League is the most competitive league globally and aims to win it and the Champions League.
Pochettino took over the U.S. national team role in September 2024 after leaving Chelsea.
He expressed surprise at the departure of Daniel Levy as Tottenham Hotspur chairman, with whom he had a good relationship.
Pochettino feels international management leaves him feeling 'empty' due to long breaks and limited player interaction.
