BBCI & GMC Launch Cancer Screening Project in Guwahati's High-Risk Zone
Imagine a team of doctors and city workers teaming up to help people in a place called Fatasil Ambari in Guwahati.
They're worried because many people there are getting cancer.
So, they started a project to check people for cancer early.
They set up a health camp where doctors checked 106 people.
They found that a few people might have early signs of cancer and sent them to the hospital for more tests.
The project also involves studying what people know and think about cancer to help stop it from spreading.
The goal is to catch cancer early and help people stay healthy.
The Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) and Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) launched a cancer screening project in Fatasil Ambari.
The project aims to address high cancer rates in the area.
Fatasil Ambari has nearly double the district's cancer cases per population.
A health camp screened 106 individuals, with 6 referred for further evaluation.
The project will study community knowledge to create targeted prevention strategies.
