Delhi: Four Schools Denied Fire Safety Certificates Due to Issues
The Delhi Fire Service checked some schools to make sure they were safe from fires.
They found that four schools were not following all the fire safety rules.
Because of this, the fire department said these schools couldn't get a certificate saying they were safe.
Some of the problems were broken fire hoses and missing signs that show how to get out.
The fire department told the schools they needed to fix these things.
One of the schools said they didn't know about this.
This means the schools need to fix their fire safety issues so they can get the certificate.
Delhi Fire Service (DFS) denied Fire Safety Certificates (FSCs) to four schools due to non-compliance.
The schools include a government school and three private institutions.
Deficiencies noted included non-functional hose reels and exit signage issues.
The DFS stated the application for issuance of FSC is rejected due to unaddressed shortcomings.
One school stated that it had not received information regarding the denial of the certificate.
