NHAI Reduces Highway Projects for NHIT
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to reduce the number of highway projects it will sell to the National Highway Infra Trust (NHIT) from nine to two.
These two highways, located in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, are expected to raise around Rs 6,500 crore.
The other seven highways might be sold through a new public infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) called Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust (RIIT), which is expected to launch by February.
NHAI aims to raise a lot of money by selling these highways to improve roads and infrastructure.
They have already raised a significant amount and plan to raise even more in the coming years.
