Sukhu seeks central aid for Himachal roads

The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, met two important ministers in the central government.

He talked to Nitin Gadkari, the Transport Minister, about getting money to fix and maintain roads in Himachal.

Mr. Gadkari agreed to give Rs 200 crore for a specific road project and promised more support.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that some roads, like the Chil Bahal to Pucca Broh section, are damaged and need urgent repairs.

In another meeting, Sukhu spoke to Bhupender Yadav, the Environment Minister, about a mistake in the official records of the state's forest cover.

He said the actual forest and tree cover is 29.5%, but only 27.99% is recorded.

He asked the minister to use the correct number for future calculations and allocations.

The Chief Minister believes this will help Himachal get the right recognition and support from the central government.
