India's Warehousing Sector Surges 64% in Q3 2025, Led by Mumbai Demand
Imagine a lot of people and companies needed places to store their stuff, like in big warehouses.
After not needing as many places for a little while, they suddenly needed a lot more in the third part of 2025.
This meant that the amount of warehouse space being used went up by a lot, about two-thirds more than the previous part of the year!
The biggest increase was seen in a big city called Mumbai, where many companies wanted to store things.
Other cities also saw more people wanting to use their warehouses, though overall, it was still less than the super busy time in 2024.
This shows that businesses are starting to grow again and need more storage space.
India's warehousing sector saw a 64% increase in absorption quarter-on-quarter in Q3 2025, reaching 9.2 million sq ft.
Despite the rebound, absorption was 36% lower year-on-year compared to Q3 2024's record levels.
Mumbai led the recovery, accounting for 47% of pan-India absorption with 4.29 million sq ft.
NCR and Chennai also showed significant absorption, with 1.28 million sq ft and 1.13 million sq ft, respectively.
The sector's rebound is attributed to revived occupier demand and steady leasing activity.
