Right-wing commentator TG Mohandas got bail on 'loophole' says Minister
TG Mohandas is a person who talks about politics on YouTube.
His show is called 'Pathrika'.
He said some unkind things about a student protest in New Delhi.
The students were upset because a big test called NEET had a question leak.
Police in Kerala arrested him because of his words.
They worried his statements could scare people and cause trouble.
A judge let him go free the same day.
A minister said the release happened because of a 'loophole' and that was a mistake.
Another leader said the arrest itself was unfair and that some people are protected while others are punished.
Different people disagree about whether the arrest was right.
Right-wing commentator TG Mohandas was arrested on Monday morning over remarks in a YouTube video about a New Delhi student protest over the NEET paper leak.
He was released on bail the same day, which Kerala Health Minister K Muraleedharan attributed to a 'loophole' and ineffective prosecution.
Mohandas was charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Information Technology Act and Kerala Police Act after a complaint said his YouTube videos were intended to disturb public peace and create fear and unrest.
In the video, Mohandas allegedly said the Delhi students' protest 'could lead to incidents of gang rape' and claimed 'those attending the protest like rape and there are girls who enjoy being raped'.
BJP MLA V Muraleedharan called the arrest a 'selective retaliation', saying no action was taken against those who allegedly made 'heinous' comments against the prime minister and his mother.
