Cost Re-evaluation of Bengaluru's Namma Metro Red Line
Imagine building a new subway line in Bengaluru!
The government had a plan for a route called the Red Line, but the people in charge want to double-check how much it will cost.
The government approved the project, but now they want to make sure the price is still fair.
This means experts will look at the cost of things like building tracks, buying land, and building stations to make sure everything is accurate.
They need to do this before they pay their share of the costs.
The project will have 28 stations and run through busy areas of the city.
The Union Ministry wants to re-evaluate the cost estimates for the Namma Metro Red Line.
The project received cabinet approval in December 2024.
The estimated cost is Rs 28,405 crore for the 36.59-kilometer route.
Independent consultants are re-evaluating the project's cost.
The project will affect approximately 836 properties along the route.
