Assam Floods: CM Sarma Declares No Need for Foreign Aid
Assam is having a big flood that has hurt many people.
The chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said the state and the central government can handle the help needed, so they don't need help from other countries.
He said they will give money to families who lost homes and help students with school supplies.
The government also plans to build new houses and clean up roads.
They are working with local party workers to give food and clothes to those affected.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma says state and central governments can manage flood relief without international aid.
Relief supplies worth Rs 16 crore were organized by Assam BJP workers and distributed to four worst‑affected districts.
The government will provide ex‑gratia payments of up to Rs 9 lakh to families of flood victims and additional financial assistance to students and borrowers.
Flood damage has affected about 11 lakh people across 2,101 villages, with 75 deaths reported.
