Calcutta High Court Sets Deadline for Metro Work
The Calcutta High Court has told the Metro Railway to finish their work at the Chingrighata crossing by 15 February 2026.
The court is worried because the work has been delayed for a long time.
The Metro needs special days when the traffic can be stopped so they can build overhead tracks.
The court said the state government must tell the Metro which days they can stop the traffic by 6 January.
The court also said that even though stopping traffic might cause some trouble, it's important to finish the Metro project because it helps many people who travel between south Kolkata and Sector V. The judges want all the agencies to work together to finish the project on time.
