Meta Introduces New Performance Review System

Meta Introduces New Performance Review System

Meta, the company that owns Facebook, is changing how it evaluates its employees.

Starting in mid-2026, they will use a new system called Checkpoint.

This system will have two review periods each year and will give bigger bonuses to the best performers.

There will be four ratings: Outstanding, Excellent, Needs Improvement, and Not Meeting Expectations.

The top performers can get a bonus that is 300% of their normal bonus.

This change is meant to make the review process simpler and more focused on results.

Meta is also planning a big meeting in January 2026 to explain the new system to all employees.

However, these changes are happening at the same time as layoffs, especially in the Reality Labs division, which works on virtual reality and metaverse technologies.

This shows that Meta is trying to balance rewarding good employees while also cutting costs and changing its focus to AI-driven products.
