India to Introduce Australian Curriculum in 100 Schools
India is bringing in a new school curriculum from Western Australia called WACE.
This means students in 100 Indian schools will learn using a system that focuses on thinking and doing, instead of just memorizing facts.
They will also receive a special score, the ATAR, that helps them get into universities around the world.
The new curriculum is similar to what's already used in other countries like Singapore and China.
Students will be graded through projects and tests instead of just exams.
The Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) will be introduced in 100 Indian schools.
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has granted equivalence to WACE.
Students will receive a unique ID from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
The curriculum encourages competency-based learning, critical thinking and application of knowledge.
Students will receive the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
