Alcaraz Eyes Shanghai Masters Challenge After Tokyo Victory

Carlos Alcaraz is getting ready to play in the Shanghai Masters.

He says he feels mentally fresh and is eager to compete.

He recently won the Japan Open in Tokyo after being away from tennis for more than four months with a wrist injury.

At the US Open, he reached the quarterfinals but lost to Ben Shelton.

Alcaraz has a bye, so he will begin in the second round.

His next opponent will be Juan Manuel Cerundolo or Nicolas Mejia.

He also spoke kindly about Holger Rune, who is returning after an injury.

Alcaraz said Rune may need time and matches to get back into his rhythm.
