World's First White Tiger Safari Expanding in Madhya Pradesh

World's First White Tiger Safari Expanding in Madhya Pradesh

The world's first dedicated White Tiger Safari in Mukundpur, Madhya Pradesh, is set to expand.

The plan, reviewed by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Rajendra Shukla, aims to turn the safari into a major hub for wildlife conservation, breeding, and eco-tourism.

The safari will grow from 121.99 hectares to 241.86 hectares.

It will include modern animal enclosures, a conservation breeding center, and a wildlife rescue facility.

The safari was established in 2016 to preserve the rare white tiger lineage that originated in the Rewa princely state.

A satellite facility for white tiger breeding has been approved by the Central Zoo Authority.

White tigers are not a subspecies but Bengal or Siberian tigers with a rare color mutation called leucism.

The first white tiger in India was spotted in 1915 in the Vindhya region.
