HILT Policy Sparks Political Controversy in Hyderabad
There is a big argument happening in Hyderabad about a policy called HILT.
The leader of the Congress party, B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, says this policy is good because it helps reduce pollution and makes the city better.
But the leaders of the BRS and CPM parties, KT Rama Rao and John Wesley, say this policy is bad.
They think the government is giving away valuable land to rich people to build houses and shops instead of using it for schools, hospitals, and homes for poor people.
They also say the government is not being fair and is making a lot of money from this land.
The Congress leader says the previous government was also not fair.
Everyone is arguing about what should be done with the land and who should get it.
TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud defended the HILT policy, stating it reduces pollution and promotes development in Hyderabad.
BRS Working President KT Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government is committing a huge land scam of Rs 5 lakh crore through the HILT policy.
CPM State Secretary John Wesley demanded an all-party meeting on the HILT Policy, expressing concern over the allocation of prime land to industrialists.
Rama Rao visited the Jeedimetla industrial estate, criticizing the government for not using the land for public needs like housing and schools.
Wesley alleged that valuable urban land is being handed over to industrialists, turning the policy into a 'HILT scam'.
