HDFC Bank fines executives for MSRDC deposit overreach
HDFC Bank recently reviewed some deposit arrangements they made with the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) in 2017 and 2021.
They found that some employees went beyond their usual business practices, which is called 'business overreach.'
The bank's board decided to give warning letters and a small fine of Rs 1 lakh to three top executives: the CEO, the CFO, and the Group Head of Retail Assets.
The board said this was not because the employees did anything wrong on purpose, but to make sure everything follows the rules set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The bank also told the RBI about this.
After this news, the bank's stock price went down a little, showing that investors were a bit worried.
