Two Railway Theft Accused Escape Lock-Up Using Sarees

Two women were being held by railway police because they were accused of stealing electric wires.

They were kept in a lock-up at Belapur railway station.

Early on Monday, the guard briefly left to use the bathroom.

The women allegedly opened the lock and went to a balcony.

They tied their sarees to a generator and used them like a rope to get down.

Police quickly began searching nearby areas and checking cameras.

One woman, Rupali Kuhade, was found near Nerul railway station later that morning.

The other woman, Shalibai Pawar, was still missing when the report was published.
