Shan Masood Breaks Inzamam's First-Class Record
Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan's cricket team, made a big achievement in a cricket match.
He scored 212 runs off 185 balls, which is the fastest double century (200+ runs) by a Pakistani in first-class cricket.
He broke a record that was set by Inzamam Ul Haq 30 years ago.
Inzamam had scored a double century in 188 balls.
Shan Masood was playing for Sui Northern Gas against Sahar Associates in the President's Cup departmental tournament.
He decided to focus on his cricket career instead of taking a job offer from the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The record for the fastest double century by a visiting batsman is still held by India's Virender Sehwag, who scored 200 runs in 182 balls in a Test match in Lahore in 2006.
Shan Masood scored 212 off 185 balls, breaking Inzamam Ul Haq's 30-year-old record for the fastest double century in first-class cricket by a Pakistani.
The previous record was held by Inzamam, who scored a double century in 188 balls in a tour match in England in 1992.
Masood achieved this feat while playing for Sui Northern Gas against Sahar Associates in the President's Cup departmental tournament.
He was unbeaten on 212 runs at the close of day one of the match.
Masood recently turned down a full-time offer from the Pakistan Cricket Board to focus on the World Test Championship and his career.
